Lakeville schools primary objective should be to focus on the items that provide our students an excellent education, engaging and building strong relationships with families, as well as being responsible with the budget.
Academic Excellence
Preparing students to be strong academically not only gives credit to our highly qualified teachers, staff and school, but it also gives the students an opportunity to grow in one's self. Christianson will advocate for maintaining high academic success, transparency in the curriculum being taught and engaging teachers to ensure they have the resources available to provide an excellent education.
Engaging families
Parents and families are foundational in a child's educational success. Christianson will support open communication, greater transparency, and meaningful opportunities for families to be informed, heard, and involved in decisions affecting their children and schools.
Fiscal Responsibilities
Thriving schools have established leaders who understand financial responsibilities. Christianson will prioritize transparency of how taxpayer dollars are being utilized, protect the district's ongoing financial needs and effectively communicate to parents and families the budgeting for classroom and student needs.
Meet Drew Christianson
My name is Drew Christianson, and I am a husband, father of five, and a proud Lakeville resident of 13 years. My wife, Lacy, and I have raised our family in Lakeville and are proud to call this our home.
As an Advanced Dental Therapist and Clinical Associate Professor at the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry, I have firsthand experience in education, mentorship, and preparing students to achieve high standards. As a dedicated educator and community leader who brings a strong commitment to helping students succeed, my background gives a valuable perspective on the importance of academic excellence, strong instruction, and creating opportunities for students to reach their full potential.
I am invested in families and the Lakeville community. I have coached several youth sports within the Lakeville community across all age groups. My experiences demonstrate the core values of listening to families, encouraging involvement, and putting the needs of students and the community first.
As a candidate for the Lakeville School Board, I am focused on academic excellence, engaging families, and fiscal responsibility. Lakeville schools should provide students with an outstanding education while making sure parents and families have a meaningful voice in their children’s education. At the same time, I understand the importance of being responsible stewards of taxpayer dollars and ensuring resources are used wisely. My professional education experience, community service, and leadership demonstrates my commitment to the long-term success of Lakeville students and families.
